Irchester Country Park is a favourite with families, walkers and cyclists. The site was originally an ironstone quarry. Now, the popular park offers grassy pastures, trails to navigate and woodland to explore. Here are some of the best things to do there:
Walking and cyclingThere is a network of long and short trails through 83 hectares of woodland. Choose from – Woodpecker, Woodland and Ironstone trails.
Play areaThe children's play park is spacious and suitable for all age ranges. You’ll find a large sand play area, xylophone, swings, balancing beams and seesaws. There are also challenging climbing frames.
Irchester Narrow Gauge Railway MuseumDiscover the history of ironstone quarrying and see working steam trains. The Railway museum opens on some bank holiday Mondays and Sundays. Please check the events pages for dates.

The Quarryman's Rest CaféRefuel and grab a bite to eat at the park café. You’ll find snacks and refreshments using local produce where possible. The café is normally open every day, except Christmas Day.
