Located in a quiet village to the south of the county, Weston Hall is the Northamptonshire seat of the literary Sitwell family. A home since 1714, the house became a haunt for some of the greatest literary and cultural figures of the 20th century when it was lived in by the writer and poet Sir Sacheverell Sitwell from 1923 until his death in 1988. The youngest brother of acclaimed poet Dame Edith Sitwell ‘Sachie’, with his glamorous Canadian wife Georgia, regularly entertained the likes of Evelyn Waugh, Cecil Beaton and Noel Coward. Little has changed at the house since the 1930s and personal tours also reveal an 18th century library, Victorian conservatory and walled kitchen garden. The beautiful grounds provide an exquisite venue for weddings and private events with landing space for helicopters providing access to Silverstone which is just five miles away. The house, with swimming pool and tennis court, is available by private arrangement for hire in whole or part. Guests can dine at the excellent village pub, The Crown, or enjoy a bespoke menu curated by renowned food writer and MasterChef critic William Sitwell, who lives in a wing of the house.
