You’ll find this popular little museum situated in the heart of Wollaston village. Wollaston is located in East Northamptonshire, on the River Nene. The museum is run by the local heritage society. Since 1970, members have been collecting artefacts representing Wollaston’s past. The attraction is in three separate parts. Here’s more about them:
Wollaston Museum - Explore the history of the village, people and industries. The museum exhibition tells stories from the local area, including boot and shoe heritage, archaeology and lace making.
Curiosity Cottage - Take a look back in time with this recreation of an early 20th century cottage.
Brecon Hill - is an English Heritage monument of a Norman motte and Bailey Castle.There are a variety of shops and pubs in Wollaston, including a cafe and retail outlet in The Yard nearby (not open on Sundays).
Summer Leys Nature Reserve is also close by, it’s a great place for countryside walks.
